RBI open the door to all Private Bank to act as its agent for Government Business

Recently RBI has announced that all Private Sector Banks will henceforth be eligible for doing Central & State Government related business as Agent. Till now this was the monopoly of PSU Banks few leading Private sector Bank (ICICI, HDFC & Axis). No onwards all Private Bank will be eligible to do Government Business as an agent of RBI. This will help more Bank Branches to provide services to the Customer which in turn will improve customer service. Till now all those who has to pay any Government dues / Tax payment has limited choice and they used to get poor services from such Banks. Hope all these will change in the coming Months. Good job done by RBI
