Foreign Investment in Commodity Exchanges

49% Foreign Investment is allowed in Indian Commodity Exchange . This include both FDI 26% and FII ( portfolio investment scheme) 23% .

RBI has clarified that Prior Governemt approval is required only for the FDI part and no approval is required to be taken by FII for Investment in Commodity Exchanges up to 23% .

RBI has also clarified that 100% FDI is allowed in NBBC for doing leasing & Finance business but this must be only Financial lease . No FDI is allowed in "operating lease"
