China Export sector is not expected to improve in the near future. Unlike India China is a trade surplus Country since long time but its surplus is decreasing gradually due to US and EU slowdown. In 2007 China Trade surplus was 7.6% of its GDP but since then it has decreased substantially. Export is growing @ 8% this year as against 20% in 2011. Although China is trying to cover up by boosting domestic consumption it cannot cover up. China has given more focus to African and South American Countries to minimize the Export loss. Export to these two Countries constitutes 11% of its total Exports which used to be only 5% 10 years back. This segment has also exceeded the Export to ASEAN Countries which is around 9% of total Exports. Export to these Countries is growing at 30%+ rate .China is repositioning its Exports to these Countries and likely to take the pie to 20% of its total Export by 2020 and reducing the pie of EU and US to 28% from present 35% .China is trying to Export more commodities involving high end technology and high skilled labor and reducing exporting goods involving low skilled and labor intensive product.
