49% FDI in Aviation - are we very close to it !!!

The much awaited decision on foreign direct investment in aviation may be announced on 14th Sept if the Cabinet agrees. Many allies of the ruling UPA do not want this but consensus may be reached due to the present state of compulsion from Rating Agency fear . The current FDI norms allow any entity other than foreign airlines (directly or indirectly) to take equity stake of up to 49% in domestic scheduled airlines. This move will allow foreign airlines also to pick up stake in the domestic Indian carriers. Such a move is expected to bring much-needed respite to much loss making Indian Airlines Company. Surprisingly recently many Airlines Company have started showing profits may be to impress foreign Airlines for better valuation.

Let see wheather Politics will prevail or Economy !!
