Compulsory Women Directors in Indian Corporate Board

As per the Companies Act 2013  the following categories of Companies need to induct one Women Director in the Board

1. Listed Companies
2. Unlisted Public Public Companies having more than 100 Crores Paid up capital or greater than 300 Cr turnover

Presently Indian Corporate Board is not properly represented by Women

India is the first Developing Country to make Women Director appointment compulsory in Indian Corporate Board

Many Developed Countries  like USA , China & Japan also do not have such a requirment

But Countries like Norway, France & Italy  have implemented this rule with very serious penalty

After the applicability of this law many Companies have started apointing Women Director but many Companies need to complete this by the end of 30th September 2014
