The Ministry of Environment, Forests administers a number of statues enacted by the statutes inter-alia include the following:
I. Environment (Protection) Act, 1986
ii. Forest ( Conservation) Act, 1980
iii. Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972
IV. The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974
v. The Air(Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
Based on experience gained in the implementation of aforesaid Acts, Ministry has decided to constitute a High Level Committee to review these Acts and suggest appropriate amendments to bring them in line with their object ives.
The report will be prepared by 3 months after which changes in he Act is expected
